Data collection for Teen Age Girls (TAG) Report 2018

Sunai Consultancy is a proud data collection partner in preparation of the first ever and largest Teen Age Girls Survey - the TAG Survey. The report of the TAG Survey was released by Mr Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Naandi Foundation in 2018 in Mumbai. This was conducted by Naandi Foundation and Project Nanhi Kali in 70,000 households across 600 districts in 30 states of India, with the objective of understanding what it means to be a teen age girl in India today. What are their aspirations, how dignified and safe are their lives, how much of their potential is being realised? Do they have access to sanitation and menstrual hygiene? And many more questions..

Sunai Consultancy collected data from randomly selected 26400 householdsfrom about 1000 rural villages and urban locations in 8 states (Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and New Delhi). Sunai contributions in data collection had been about 30%. Sunai also did listing of about 3 lacs households and from these lists, the sampled households to visit was randomly selected.

Not only that, Sunai was also partner in pilot testing the project in the initial period which was decisive in questionnaire finalisaition, survey software development, survey implementation process formulation and others. The was complex in the sense that the survey recorded anthropometry (height and weight) data and Hemoglobin test datafor surveyed teen girls.

We are very happy to share the survey was completed with the set time frame, and it was a all female surveyors survey.
